Since 1914, La Jolla Woman’s Club has been central to the La Jolla Community. In addition to member and community service events, the club is host to numerous private events such as weddings, non-profit fund-raising events, lectures, seminars, receptions, dinners, book launches, celebrations of life, educational meetings and holiday parties. With it’s central La Jolla Village location and private grounds the club is a special venue for any special occasion. The exquisite private gardens, covered veranda and ocean view patio terrace are popular for pre-lecture and pre-dinner receptions.
The club’s stage is perfect for lectures and panels, auctions and entertainment. La Jolla Woman’s Club is located at 7791 Draper Avenue at Silverado Street and is part of the Cultural Zone that includes St. James by the Sea, The Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla Historical Society, The Bishop’s School, La Jolla Recreation Center, La Jolla Presbyterian, and the Irving Gill designed Bed & Breakfast Inn of La Jolla. Many of our buildings were designed by famed modern architect, Irving Gill, as a commission from Miss Ellen Browning Scripps. Thanks to Miss Ellen’s generosity and the cultural zone designation, this area has retained it’s original charm and architectural integrity that makes this pocket of La Jolla Village so special.
